Exquisite and extremely rare snuffbox is a magnificent example of Russian decorative and applied art of the mid-19th century. Made of silver and gold, it has a rectangular shape with rounded corners. Particular attention is drawn to the lid, made in the technique of painted enamel with the image of the mythological scene of the Offering of Gifts to Venus. The central drawing is framed by a gold edging, adding elegance and sophistication to the item. The sides and the bottom of the snuffbox are decorated with a geometric pattern made in the gelosh technique. The snuffbox button is made of gold, harmoniously giving the product a contrast with the case. Hallmarks: the hallmark of an unknown master with the initials in Cyrillic ФБ, the full hallmark of the Moscow District Assay Office with the initials A.K and the numbers 1852 corresponding to the hallmark of the quality master Andrey Antonovich Kovalsky, the numbers 84 corresponding to the silver sample, the city hallmark of the city of Moscow St. George the Victorious on a horse.
