A unique mantel clock made of glass and bronze made during the period of Nicholas I (1825-1855) in the style of the late Empire. The solar theme of the luminary rising from the waters is associated with the nature of abundance in the ornament of the dial and the dominant flowerpot on conical glass. The general leitmotif of the mobility of waves and time , permeates the work and is noticeable in the rhythm of the glass and the dial pattern. In the center of the composition, He and She are Helios’ assistants. Alpha and Omega of the universe. They rise from the waves and hold the luminary, affirming love, life, fertility. This is the connecting thread of times. The clock is made of gilded and polished bronze and cobalt glass, presumably made at the Imperial Glass Factory in St. Petersburg, with bronze bases of floral designs. The upper part of the clock is made in the shape of a vase and is decorated with gilded bronze floral decoration. The dial is marked with Roman numerals, decorated with a decor in the form of sun rays rotated in an hour circle.
