Il represente une symbiose de thèmes classiques, de technique fauve et de relations impressionnistes dans la peinture du neo-traditionalisme des annees 1930. Tableau monumental representant un couple nu à lombre des arbres sur fond de chevaux brides non loin de la mer. Un couple amoureux, comme Adam et Eve, se parle avec interêt et setudie, comme sil shabituait lun à lautre. Ils sont contrastes par la couleur de la peau et la lumière. Elle, sous les projecteurs du soleil, est blanche, volumineuse et seduisante. Il est bronze à lombre, fort et brutal. Dun regard, dun geste, avec lenthousiasme de la jeunesse, il se tourne vers elle. La base de leur lit est constituee de tissus clairs disposes au sol. En eux, des taches ecarlates complètent le feuillage vert pittoresque. La detente pastorale du couple contraste avec le fond actif, où ils jettent une bride sur les chevaux. Ce qui anticipe symboliquement la chance amoureuse du jeune homme. Mais le sujet est plus large.
